This Ricoh Aficio 450 is giving me light/negative image looking copies after the copier has been on for a minimum of ten minutes. I replaced the drum and LD Unit for this problem, but still it persists. These copies happen during copying, and even after the machine has just been sitting for about ten minutes, and then a copy is made. Any help on why the copies are this way would be most appreciated.

Re: Ricoh Aficio 450
Without seeing an example its hard to say but an educated guess says not enough toner is being supplied to the drum. I would suspect a problem with the dev unit such as the dev drive clutch slipping and the mag roller not turning. But given the age of this copier it could be anything that is starting to die from extreme old age.
This copier was a turkey when it was new and now 15 years later it would be an absolute shocker. Time to cut your losses and declare it unfixable. At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.Comment

There may be a discontinuous connection between magnetic roller, front bias terminal and rear one on dv.unitLast edited by bob marley; 12-03-2014, 04:22 AM.Live for yourself and you will live in vain. Live for others, and you will live againComment
