If it's just the right hand side, open the left hand side and remove it. Place a large, sturdy screwdriver under the right hand side, lift it up and pull. It will come out. Someone has been a bit forceful closing the tray.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

It has been maybe ten years since I have had this on a tandem tray. If I remember correctly we had to disconnect the finisher and remove the left lower cover. We could then at least look in and see what could be done. If I remember, it had to do with latch between the two halves and required a long screwdriver to disengage it. I think something to do with the latch release solenoid. After we figured it out, the next time was quick and easy. It was a Gestetner 3355, Aficio 550, in the yard office at a level 5 prison. Prison COs can be rather hard a machine.

yup, happens a lot when someone jammed the tray to hard in the machine, do as mentioned above!
