    ricoh 1060 psu buzzing!

Ok, ive got a 1060 out in the field, and on delivery we switched it on, only to here a loudish electrical buzzing noise coming from the PSU.the m/c didnt make this noise in the workshop. We have also swapped the a PSU and main pwr cable from another m/c we know is ok.But still the noise is there. Now opposite the buildng only 50yrds is a sub station, that kicks out a good buzzing noise. Is it possible it could be somehow interfering and also making the PSU give off a loud electrical buzz.(the m/c all works fine)

A little feed back please, as taking this m/c down stairs and trying it at a different site for this theory is not good........

    Aren't you running 240V there?

Do you have line filters you put on your units? That might kick some of it out.

Have seen same thing occasionally. Has always been power
quality related for me. Had one once that was close to a coal
power plant that kept blowing PSUs (and lots of SC547 codes).
Cust finally had to buy $2000 power scrubber to put between
wall outlet and copier. No problems since.

Other than extremes like that, (in my opinion) PSU noise is no big deal.

Had this happen to me on a high volume machine. Turned out to be a wiring harness. The manufacturer wraps the harness so tight that it occasionally causes problems. Try moving the harness around and even cutting some of the straps.

I've noticed this a lot in the smaller machines.. i.e 5613, ldo18 and so forth. I have also noticed this in a couple of the high volume machines too.... I think that some humming is normal, but if it's humming like crazy, the first thing I would check is what's around it that could be interfering with it.. that's the only thing it could be. Hope this helps

I would do a few simple things if I were you.

I would get a meter on the outlet and confirm you have appropriate voltage coming in and also make sure its coming in at the right frequency.

Have you tried a different circuit?

Sorry if you have all ready tried these things. Let us know.
