went to machine for service call dumping toner, pulled pcu, developer unit, toner hopper cleaned and cleaned inside of the machine. put back together. tried to make a copy. paper got to the registration roller, stopped and gave an sc322. laser sync error. took laser unit out and completely cleaned it. put laser unit back in and ran sp2109-8, sp2109-3, and sp2109-4. still doing the same thing. paper gets to the registration roller and stops and gives an sc322. checked all connections, and cables and all seem to be just fine. this is an old machine and we are trying to get them to replace and dont want to put in a LD unit ($$$) if i can help it. any suggestions?

Re: Ricoh 2045e--sc322
Change the door switches first, if the machine was really dirty they will have become contaminated. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Re: Ricoh 2045e--sc322
It seems that the whole problem is the LD. Try clean it and check sp 2103 (LD Power Adjustment ) , also as TonerMunkeh mentioned u can change switches , specifically which are on the right side , one of them if it is dirty or defective can cause LD problemLast edited by bob marley; 12-21-2014, 03:57 AM.Live for yourself and you will live in vain. Re: Ricoh 2045e--sc322
Try it with cheated switches of the side doors, does it pop the code right after the ID pattern is created on drum?
I'd guess that ID sensor isn't in place, meybe u forgot to clean it or drum skraper is in bad condition and lets the waste toner out on ID sensor.
Dusting on them can be caused by bad drum entrance seal, developer unit filter, developer unit entrance seal,Bad drum scraper,if any of those are in bad condition toner dusts on laser unit.
Look for yellow cable connector on Laser unit,if he is not in place properly he can give you SC322,Clean all mirrors as stated before.
I'd wait with changing boards cause it can't malfunction just like that,it worked fine before you got thereGears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?Comment

Re: Ricoh 2045e--sc322
I have this prob often by this modell. first thinking is LD Unit but it was always the Doorswith on left Side from Fusing and Separation Unit. There are 4 of them as a Part. Propably change it all. They open 12V und 24 V Current and sometimes its give nearly 18 - 19 V thats enough to recall a SC Code for LD Unit like a defective Polygon Mirror Motor. It's possible you can clean the Switches but its may a difficult work.Comment

yes agreed with Flo. Replaced those 3 interlock switches on the right side when facing the front cover door. There is a way you can bypass it from the LD board but i forget the positioning pins.Comment

It is either a 2 pin connector or a three pin connector with only 2 leads. I used to use a staple to bypass it for testing.Comment

Re: Ricoh 2045e--sc322
When i first got to this machine it was bad there was close to an 1/8" of toner under the bottom of the dev unit. Aparently the old tech we had told them "there was nothing he could do for it and when it started making bad copies to pull the shield glass and clean it". I've ordered new entrance seals , The old ones were horible, im gonna replace those when they open back up from the hollidays.
Was wondering if anyone had the part numbers for the door switches?!?Last edited by clemsonfish; 12-29-2014, 09:14 PM.Comment
