[Misc] HELP ME PLEASE AFICIO 3025 Drives me crazy Scan to Windows7 PC

Hello
I am a entrepreneur (Plumbing In PARIS France) and I have several Ricoh machines (Multicopieur B&W) with no contract with RICOH.
Those are end of leasing renewed products.
They work fine and two years ago I succeed in setting the scan to folder and fax to folder to a network PC working on Windows XP.
This PC is getting old and I would like very much to change the destination folder to another PC on the network or even my server wokring on server 2008.
The other PC are working on windows 7.

BUT I can't connect my AFICIO 3025 to the PCs on Windows 7 nor on the server 2008.
Even when I want to set the destination folder manually It cant connect to those PC.

I have opened all the firewall all the ports followed all the tips found on forums...

The only thing I can't find is the latest firmware (even I called the hotline of Ricoh Europe ).

Can someone Help me I can resolve myself to put the perfectly working Aficio to garbage only for a matter of firmware.

You'd be best getting Ricoh in to do the firmware for you. I don't think you'll be able to get it to scan to W8, the firmware hasn't been released to my knowledge.

I misread Server 2008 as W8. Doh. Anyway, as I said, ask Ricoh to do the firmware updates for you, far less painful than you trying it yourself.

I may have found a solution in sending the fax to email.
But the fax joint are in tiff and not pdf even if the "convert to pdf during transfer to the folder" is on
How can i change that ?

These older units can only foward to folder in PDF format - not email
You might consider installing an FTP server (example:Filezilla), and scanning to folder that way. It is non-firmware dependent

Firmware for WIn8 is available in the US as a Special/Custom firmware. I have updated a few.

Thank's for your answer Can someone explain the ftp mode ?
I have installed the ftp fillezila on my server
I have created a user
I have set a folder for this user.
I can connect with ftp client to the folder
I cant do it on the Ricoh 3025 !!!

In filezilla you need to set permisions for user related to folder...read,write,delete,append and so on and in firewall setings on that PC u need to alow fillezilla to get pass the firewall.
Just a reminder,although fillezilla is a wery good and fast solution,my favourite honestly it's major flaw is that IP adress can change ower night,you set PC's IP in WIM and the next morning that IP can change resulting in failure to scan so keep an eye on DHCP's in klient's networks.

Had the same problem here in Italy with our 3025, try the following:

1. Update the machine with the latest firmware
2. Create the shared folder in c:/ (not on the Desktop)
3. Set the Network to "private" (you can do this by right click on the network symbol on the Pc, network and sharing center)
4. try to downgrade the encrtption do 48bit ( Network and sharing center, change the default settings)
5 Disable if possible the sharing with password (ask customer first!......same place as point 4)
6. On the machine, try to set the path to the share manually, es: \\computername\shared folder

7. let me know!
