[Misc] Difference between"Limit to Auto Color Selection" and "Full Color/Auto Color Select"

    Hi all

I have a Question Regarding user Authentication Settings in the Directory's of Ricoh Printers like a MPC 305

Can someone explain what the difference is between"Limit to Auto Color Selection" and "Full Color/Auto Color Select".

Also on the Copier Section there is "Full Color" "Two-color""Single Color""Black & White" and i can`t get it what should be the difference. Has it to do with the Toner Usage ?

    MPC305.JPG

Thanks in Advance for the Help

Auto color, the user can only choose this color option (cheaper than full color, as it copy bw as bw)
Full color/auto color, the user can choose both color option.
Please start you post with brand, model, problem.

That statement is only partially true. ACS is very different from manufacturers, It has a lot to do with saving the drum, developer and ITB life and direct cost to the customer. It starts with the machine creating a histogram of the image to figure out if the page is text or graphic B&W or color. So most color machine would start out printing in different modes and will actively change mode during printing if consecutive number of color or B&W prints change in number. It affects the type of registration and image stabilization the machine would preform and if the ITB must be retracted from the color drums and if the drive should be disconnected.

And this is only my interpretation of japanese translation.

I always instruct the customer to use Auto Color and not Full Color when copying. When scanning sets of documents with a mix of color and b\w originals using Auto Color, those pages that are determined to have no color are counted as b\w copies and the meter is incremented accordingly. Selecting Full Color will count all as color, potentially costing the customer color clicks unnecessarily.
