    troubleshooting that dreaded sc672 on a mp6500

as posted here b4 i tried to add a postscript card to a mp6500 and recvd a 672 code.
i put the card in the c1 top slot and now know it needed to be on the 2nd slot.ok
i ended up putting everything back as was and machine was working ok as i left to ck this used card i bought online.
a week later sc672 pops up again.
upon my visit i pull sd cards, memory, disc hard drive,ck all connectors on controller,ck fuses and
    unplug control panel,power.
it never cleared.machine seems to cycle, fuser heats up,fans run etc..
as i dont have a spare working controller, how would you go about finding the cause?

if i pull the controller and try it i a working mp6500 am i risking taking out a 2nd machine?
    thnx

    Hi.

Try replacing the HDD on the machine. Also check the harness going to your operation panel and also the boards on the operation panel.

SC672 is never an easy code to clear as it means that you have a controller startup error which can be caused by the above.

    Hope it helps.

i suggest Sir that its more safe (if you suspect the controller board) to install a working one on the machine your troubleshooting than installing the defective one on the working machine... its just my luck that i just remove the controller outside the clean and blew the dusty board then installed it and works fine... Good Luck Sir.
The B140 machine does not have a system card In Slot 1 so PS3 (B525-15) can be installed, in Slots 1 or 2. its available for application SD cards
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

i have a backup parts machine i bought wth a smashed in control panel, missing memory,sd cards n harddrive but that one after swapping out control panel gives me 672 too.
i assume missing one of each memry stick pc2100 and the 256m dimm.
it was a project i never got to...
might have to send controller to hytec if i cant resolve this
the mp6500 is not b140,it is b246 if i remember..

does anyone know if the pc133 256 memory in the controller is nonecc ram or ecc ram?
does it matter or if some has used a generic laptop memory ,what did you buy?
              thnx
