mpc 2551 bypass tray show mismatch paper size

Hi ! i facing this problem in mpc 2551 ,when i placed original on ADF and select bypass tray ,press start button panel show paper size mismatch,after i press 'exit' which is show in the panel and i press start button then only copying working,even usertools under papersize i selected autodetect or A4 size ,the outcome still same. but i placed original copy onto platen and select bypass tray its can copied. I had replaced the bypass unit ,outcome still,any input will appreciated. TQ

Are you placing the original in the ADF oriented the same way as the paper in the bypass tray? When tou select the bypass as the feed source, press the # key and set the paper size there.

Yes .this method already show to customer but customer want to press start button and
start directly.TQ

Sounds like you have dirty original size detect sensors on the ADF. Try clean the 2 or three sensors on the original tray, if they are dirty it will think you have larger than A4 in the DF and therefore show a mismatch

but I can copying when original copy placed on ADF when selected tray 1 or tray 2 , that's make me annoyed. TQ for input

Check in User Tools and make sure the paper size setting is set to auto detect.

Yes this is correct because you are selecting the paper size manually and not using the ADF to automatically pick it for you. I guess the machine is set to auto paper select by default which means when you place an original in the ADF it looks at it and decides how big it is so it can match the size.

This is also why it works from the platern glass because it uses different length sensors and there obviously working.

Check the original size sensors on the ADF they may just be dirty or even faulty
