    [Jamming] Constant Jamming

Getting a jam code of 087 on a Ricoh Pro C651EX. I have checked sensors and checked all of the guides. This happens only on a8 1/2 x 11. 11x17 works fine. Has anyone ran into this issue?

Code is referring to exit relay sensor in the duplex. Does it jam on single sided only? Does it jam on double sided only? Both? Seems like you can isolate the issue to the duplex area and check for dirty sensors and activators. If your 11x17 test was not in duplex mode, try it. If you find that it jams as well then it is most definitely a duplex issue and you should be able to find the obstruction or problem.

For when 8.5X11" paper jams exclusively, you should check that the guides in the paper drawers are set correctly, as most of the time that is the only problem. The position of the guides in the paper drawers determine what size of paper the machine detects, and the timers used to track the paper through the machine are based on that detected paper size, and are very strict.

Jam 087 is an exit relay sensor lag jam. Lag jams are trail edge jams, that is the paper appears to stay over the sensor too long. This frequently is an indication that the sensor is failing. Static testing of the sensor will not show the sensor as bad. With 11X17, the sensor stays covered long enough to be ready to react when uncovered. Sensors are not that expensive.

Oops, sorry about that, I fired off a response before reading the entire thread.
