    MPC2500 - Bizzare Printing Issue

    Here is a doozie-

    Brand new MPC2500. Updated Print/System/and NIC/ firmware.

    Problem:

Lines that go left to right, margin to margin, about 2cm apart from each other from top to bottom.
The lines are process black lines and you can tell the registration is a touch off.

    Conditions-

This happens every print, regardless of test page or document.

    Notes-

Of course, does not happen during copies or even Internal prints.

    Trouble shooting steps-
Printer SP - Did a color test print. (Where the Data light lights up and then prints a color test sheet) Worked fine, no lines.

Tried PCL6, PCL5c, PS, & PPD driver, no change. Lines still exist.

Hooked up via Cross over, tried all different drivers, no change. Lines still exist.

Whats insane to me is that if you do a print test page under printer SP, the data light lights up. But the print is fine.

I will post up an example in a little bit when I get a hold of it.

Ricoh Tier 1 is also clueless.

Thanks for your help as always.

Looks to me like a problem with the memory DIMM

I agree. It probably is the memory. I had this happen occasionally on the Aficio 1045's and 2232's.

Take the dimm's out and clean the contacts with alcohol and clean the socket.

                One more Question

Does this MPC2500 have the Fiery E 3000 installed? I've seen that a couple of times on multiple brands with a fiery attached. It was the video board, which is used on multiple Fiery servers.

                  No Fiery here.

                  Thanks though!

                    Definitely sounds like memory.
