NVRAM clear on a B&W isn't as bad as on the color boxes. You should be OK redoing the Laser sync & DV. You might have to adj the reg settings, etc.

thnx for all info..
swapped complete controller box
and used customers hard drive which was bad.
so on 2nd call i swapped the 80gig hard drive out and did
all the reformat and a few other service commands i found for the sc 860,870,873 etc.
now it works.
next is my parts shop unit which i will try to revive.
