    SC 220-1 on a MPC305

After removing the laser to clean a toner spill I now get a SC 220-1 that I can't clear. Replaced the laser flat cable and swap lasers (they are the same). Any thoughts?

    I've had the same SC220 (-02) recently on a MPC305 which I couldn't clear.
Like you I tried swapping the laser unit around and replaced the ribbon cable.

But in the end it turned out to be faulty BICU.

I heard there are issues with the ribbon cables going into the laser units on this model. Haven't experienced it myself but making sure those ribbons are connected properly and that the laser units are seated correctly seems to be Ricoh's solution.

thanks for the comments but wouldn't the error follow the out of adjustment laser unit if you swap them?

Thanks for the advise. I was hoping to avoid replacing the BICU since this is a relatively new chargeable unit and this isn't the original problem he had. Touchy situation.

Hi, I've just got the exact same fault you had. I'm going for the BICU board just wondering did it solve it for you if you remember?
                  Thanks!
