Aficio 1075 few copies good then copies gradually lighter

This 1075, when switched on after about an hour in off position, prints are good. But it gradually fades away. I checked toner supply. Seems to be good. But surprisingly no toner return from the drum. Changed both TD and ID sensors. What else could be wrong? I am clueless. Any help here is very much appreciated.

How long does it take for the prints to fade?
The reason I ask is that those machines were meant to run larger jobs. So if you don't run jobs that are big enough, the toner motor doesn't run long enough and the prints begin to fade. From what I've seen that usually takes a few days at least to show up, though.

Have you checked your VSP and VSG readings?

You may have a potential sensor issue, as this sensor monitors copy quality.

How old is the drum and dev?

Thanks to everyone. Here are the answers to all the questions:

How long does it take for the prints to fade?

in about 5 mins I would say about 200 to 300 copies.. but you can easily notice that the copies being fading if you compare copy 1 to 100. When It reached 200 you can barely see..

Have you checked your VSP and VSG readings?

Yes they are good. ID / TD sensors replaced recently.

How old is the drum and dev?

Developer is new. Initialized the developer. That's my doubt. when I put the dev unit back if I have missed something...

Hi Zeldman, Yes there is no message. Copier runs fine even after it is totally faded away without any greetings. Yes the first thing I looked is those 2 connectors. they are fine.

I do see full toner in the toner supply unit. So I believe toner supply is not the issue. Toner End sensor is fine.

Toner supply Sensor the one on the side of the hopper tends to blow easily if it gets near a toner vacuum Id go with replacing that next.

Thanks Bantams. The toner is full in the toner supply unit, with that much toner I should be able to print at least 1000 pages...

I guess I am missing something else.. As I said earlier, not sure if I miss anything when I put the developer unit back when I changed the developer.

I would check the recycler unit on the back of the machine along with the tube from it to the developer unit at the front. these are known for clogging up. Also check the drive gear for the recycler.

Thanks Wester. I really didn't think about it as I don't see any toner in the waste toner discharge tube. But any way I will check it out tomorrow.

TRC, I an sure I already checked the will check the contacts looked clean, but as you said it is worth a try to polish it and put it back. I will polish it and put it back then give it a shot.

I did not check the mag roller either. I will check it out tomorrow.

Sounds to me like you are getting toner to the toner hopper but it is not going into the development unit. The metering plate on the bottom of the toner hopper could be clogged or the toner supply clutch could be bad.

Yes slimslob, you are absolutely correct. Toner hopper has full of toner. This is what exactly it sounds like. I will open the development unit tomorrow and see if anything blocking the toner.

Did you do sp2801 be for auto process control starts if not copies gradually lighter Ive done this mp6500 you have to go back and force tone and do toner setup as per service manul
