    mpc 2050 with sc542

    hi
    i am working on a mpc2050 wth 48k that i bought a month back.
was sold as power ups and runs..yeah right..
shoots sc542 and looks like it overheated as the fuser belt looks like it
started to stick to the fuser roller.
its creasy and bubbly for a lack of a better word.
i swapped a known good unit and it too codes out.
i cleaned the thermopile wth alcohol and tried both units again and no change.
i did see some mention on other threads that the power supply, connectors to fuser, and bcu are possible
    causes.
should i try firmware update 1st..
should i swap both power supply and bcu together?
    thanks in advance

      hi

i reset wth just going into service mode "like on the mp5500" and it goes to normal screen upon re-powering
and after cycling 30 seconds it codes again.
i tried the sp5810 and same result..
i was suppose to deliver this tuesday...

Is the fuser turning during warm-up? It could be drive-related. I've had such a problem due to a cracked drive gear.

          hi
i have two mpc2050 s side by side.
one i redid yesterday, all good and clean.firmware all updated etc etc and tested.
i had swapped the fusers out and tested good fuser shoots same code..
i have a parts mpc2050 in garage that i can pull boards from.
looks like a board problem to me..only thing i cant figure is if it is overheating why didnt i blow the thermofuse?
i think i will try the power supply 1st
          thnx all

            From Goose's Guide:

D037/D038/D041 SC 542 Heating roller warm-up error 1: Check thermopile connection
D037/D038/D041 SC 542 Heating roller warm-up error 1: Replace heating roller lamp
D037/D038/D041 SC 542 Heating roller warm-up error 1: Replace thermopile
You can rule out the heating lamp, so my next step would be to replace the thermopile.
