RIcoh MP C2800 scan to email - external exchange

    Hi all

Can anyone help on how to setup scan to email using an external exchange server on an MP C2800?

If by external exchange you mean a cloud based email service something like Office 360, you can not make the MP C2800 compatible as it does not support SMTP over SSL let alone TLS, which Office 360 requires by default. You will have to have the exchange service provider set up a relay service that allows non secure port 25 SMTP. These are usually configured to allow either unlimited relay service for specified IP addresses or limited number of emails a day with no IP source restriction. The other option is to set up your own relay server on a PC using a software such as Stunnel.

X2, I've been running into this issue a lot recently. The end users just don't understand why it won't work since it did before the switchover to 365. I just start throwing them industry talk answers, and when their eyes start to glaze over I give them the attached MS KB bulletin and tell them to forward it on to their IT.
