We have a SP C232SF that we are trying to hook up to scan to a folder but it wont go through. It says Server Connection Failed when we hit the start button to scan it. But it doesn't even pull the paper through the ADF, it just immediately says that it failed. Any ideas on how to solve that?

Re: SP C232SF scanning
What's the OS of the machine you're trying to scan to? I don't think this model supports scanning to anything higher than Server 2008 R2.
Presuming that you're using Windows 7/Server 2008 R2, make sure you have the correct credentials for access to the share folder and that the permissions are read/write (in specifics, all you need are modify rights); also make sure the network profile for the computer is set to anything other than public, and that file sharing is turned on. Since the copier's Samba install also likes it, make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is turned on in the network card settings of the computer as well. -

Re: SP C232SF scanning
From looking at the Firmware History, there does not appear to be an update to support Windows 7/Server 2008R2. rfg-esource does not show any Special/Custom firmware. The last production firmware was April 2010 but does not show Win 7. I would say that if you are wanting to scan to folder on anything other than Windows XP, you will need to use FTP. Better yet, since the machine was introduced in 2008, replace the machine.Comment
