    Lanier 412f (Ricoh 4410) won't transmit faxes.

Lanier 412f won't fax out but receives faxes fine. Phone line is plugged into line 1 jack. When you hit hook and dial manually(immediate Fax mode), faxes can be transmitted fine. But when you want to fax normally(memory fax mode) you cannot. Input appreciated as always.

Can you be a little more clear on the behavior?

What happens? does it scan the pages in but doesn't dial the #?
Do the pages stay in memory?
Does it eventually (or ever) print an error report?
Any chance that it's only certain numbers that can't be sent via memory transission?

Thanks for responding. It scans the pages in but doesn't dial the # and then it eventually prints an error report.
And no, it's not certain numbers. Every number fails unless you hit hook and dial direct. Checked all the bit switch settings and they look ok. Fax modem failure?

Is the machine hooked up to a VOIP network?

What is the error shown on the error report?

Do they need to dial a # to get an outside line? You may need to turn off dial tone detection. Set SW22 bit 0 to 0.

iirc on hook dial disables V.34 and V.8. so you may want to look into the V.34 and V.8 settings...
