Scan to Folder problem

I formatted a HDD yesterday and now the customer isn't able to scan.

I backed up the address book before the format, then restored after.

The customer doesn't use scan to email. Apparantly their IT guy has confirmed everything is ok on their end.

Is their anything else that may have been cleared during the format that would have stopped the scan to folder working?

If you did not encrypt the backup at the time you made it then the folder password(s) and possibly usernames used for folder authentication will not have been saved. I suspect if you go into the address book and re-enter the credentials it should correct the issue.

That was going to be one of the first things i was going to get the customer to do when i phone them this morning.

For future reference, how do i encrypt the back up?

There is a blank spot for an encryption pass phrase where you perform your backup and restore in the web interface. Just input something simple there, like 'password', both before the backup and before restoring. The same is true with SDM-A.

This has been resolved. The the folder authentication wasn't retained in the back up i took.
