MPC 4503 with SC670 and Turning Itself Off/On Randomly

Hello all. I have an MPC4503 called in originally for SC 670. I update the firmware. That didn't fix it so I replaced the BCU and Controller bd. I still was getting an SC670 so I then replaced the IPU with an OEM part (other boards too). The 670 seemed to have gone away but then it started having an issue where the machine would intermittently cycle itself off and on repeatedly. I ordered another IPU board, put that in and still it started doing the cycling on and off again. On top of all of this, the last time it cycled on/off it came back with the SC670 again!!!
Tech support says replace the Image IOB and Paper transport IOB. This is a lot of boards going into this machine! I'm seriously at wit's end. So I turn to the service community. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

Sounds like everything but the power supplies have been replaced. Wild guess - DC Power Supply? The 03 series has a separate AC and DC Power Supply. The DC power Supply controls the OFF function (through the contact switch below the op panel, IPU Board and OFF Relay). I have had the DC Power Supply fail - when it was replaced the machine powered up as soon as the cord was plugged in and WITHOUT anyone pressing the ON button.

I cant recall where I read this, but I believe there has been some cases of random shut downs and sc codes due to a faulty mini usb lead that is under the control panel connecting the control panel to the machine. Might be worth using another usb lead and bypassing the original one. I will see if I can find more info in this in the next few days.

also there is a bulletin regarding sc670 on this model.

It also wouldn't hurt to update the firmware since you have changed the boards to eliminate any conflicting firmware levels.make sure to include the power saving sub-system as this has caused issues for me in the past

I had an MPC4503 do this today and reloading the SPDF ENGINE firmware appears to have fixed it.
