    Mpc6501 sc585

    Hello everyone. First post this year, unfortunately it's on the pile of poo.....

    I have a Mpc6501 which is kicking out Sc585 pretty much continuously, not every page, but enough to cause the machine to go into auto reboot just as often.
    I have, in the service settings switched the double feed detect to OFF on all trays, but it still occurs in the back round causing it to reboot. I'm going back in tomorrow to have another go at cleaning everything, again and checking that the setting is OFF, which I did last visit as well.
    So my question is two fold;
    Do you have to turn this off in user mode as well to have any effect?
    and if I was to turn off auto SC reboot, would this cause the machine to bring the SC code to the fore every time it pops up?
    I look forward to your help
    Many thanks

    I believe that SP 1302 just turns off the double feed detection as far as giving a double feed error to the operator, which is treated and cleared the same as a jam, i.e. the operator can clear the double feed and continue with the job. Check for a dirty sensor. Setting SP 5875-001 to 1 will cause the machine to display the SC number the first time the error occurs. Set at 0, the machine does an automatic reboot.
