Ricoh MP C5503 - Black image problem

    Hi fellow techs.

I got this MP C5503 with K- image problem - PDF Scan attached.

    Counter page - OK!

Logging pages - Background and dev. particles

    Sky Shot CMY - OK!

    Sky Shot K - faint

    Test page color:
CMY ok, K horisontal ok, K vertical -faint.

    So far I have changed:

    1. K PCU
    2. K-Dev Unit
    3. Image Transfer UNIT (incl. cleaner)

    Have you seen this before?

    Nice day to you all.

Have you tried cleaning the laser unit? seen this sort of thing on older models like the MPC3500, general rule is if ive changed the drum and dev/unit its normally the laser, let us know how you resolve this one!

No development bias apllied to the development roller.

When the dev unit/pcu was replaced did they forget to put the cover on the back with the grounding plate ?

Instead of sky shots, try using the checker flag test pattern.

You had SC361-01 on March 19th & 23rd which is a K TD sensor adjustment error.

Did you set 3701-003 to 1 and power off before replacing the K dev unit?

Also check the back plate on the K PCDU, there is a metal voltage strap that needs to be in the correct position for a good contact.

                  Thanks

I did set 3701 for PCU and later for the dev.unit and transfer unit.

But I seriously can't remember if the contact plate was in place... Damn!!!

Have orderd HV board and returning to this mashine in about 2 days, hoping that it's a missing back plate though.

Thanks to all for your fast and professional help.

I will return later with a follow up.

This was the answer, the groundplate was missing (But I didn't forget to attach, it was one of my colleagues...)

                    Thanks all
