    MPC2003 installing extended features

    Hi everyone,

I am currently installing papercut app on to a MPC2003. For some reason the machine will not pick up papercut in the 'install' extended feature settings from SD card or via web interface.
Now I know I am doing it correctly because iv already set 4 others up in same building and they work fine.
Tried install new firmware but no joy.
    Any thoughts?

Does the machine have Java? Is it in a "waiting" or "starting up" state?

This is the thing.. it does not show the java platform installed. How would one go about installing it?

I would prep an sd card with the java update folder and as the copier boots it will automatically start the java update. Watch the black message area at the bottom left corner of the screen. Wait till the message java update has been successful is displayed. Power off, remove the card, power on, and wait till the machine has completely booted and you have access to user tools. See if java is in the extended features. If everything is working you should now be able to start your app install.

Before you start though make sure you have reverted any changes from attempting your app install back to defaults before doing the java update.

Java update instructions and download are available on the TSRC website.

Java is standard equipment on this model, at least in the US. Not sure on other parts of the globe.

I have seen it where these types of features are not the same worldwide (it's a marketing thing, I guess.)

Check SP 5730-001 is set to 1

Java should be enabled by default as Ken said though.

Java set to 1 in sp mode. Printed of diagnostics list and shows SDK 1 installed. Still not showing in extended features. How do I recover it?

Is there a JAVA SD card installed? If not, someone has possibly removed it. If it cannot be found, you will have to order a replacement JAVA card from parts.

Java on this machine is version 11.x, which is FM (Flash Memory) and resides on the controller; no SD card.

This is a long shot question but here goes:

How much RAM memory does your machine have? Is it at least 1024MB?

Also, when you press the extended features button, does it show the features screen?
                    Press the GREEN button!!

Solved. Sp5730-001 helped, rebooted and all was good. Also updated java firmware. Fingers crossed.
