I mistakenly put this post under fax but it's a copier.i am a toshiba tech but am working on a toshiba 901 that's really a ricoh. Maybe a mp9000? The display show a picture of the copier along with a message that a "cover is open..please close indicated cover. The copier comes all the way to ready before this screen shows up immediately. However no cover is indicated and the light on top of the control panel is off, not red. Does ricoh route these covers through a strange path? How do i track the cover where none is indicated? Does ricoh mate these switches through fusers , etc. Like canon and toshiba used to? I really hope someone has seen this. I unplugged all accessories, so it's the copier. Is ther a difference between "cover" and "door"?
Cover is open/ close indicated cover

The E-Studio 901 is an MP9000...
Without having one right in front of me, I can't really say what cover might be routed where, etc. Is it possible that the cover that's open is the paper feed bank cover near the waste toner bottle? Off the top of my head that's the only cover I can think of that can be undone with all of the external covers closed. Also, make sure the duplex and transfer belt are in their proper positions.
Other than that, try re-seating all the DIMM's on the controller and also check the connections to the hard drives. If they're bad, they have to be replaced as a set. -
