Looking for an odd ball fuser part for an MP C5501...

My customer recently (I mean they've only had the machine a week...jeez) decided to remove the fuser from their MP C5501.
They pulled and pulled and pulled until they broke both the pulls off the fuser cover.
I tell them "now that's gonna cost ya". We all had a small laugh as I showed them again how to remove the fuser by first lifting the lock tabs...DOH.

So I figure no biggie I'll call Precision and have them order me one... Ricoh P/N D0294103 Front Cover Guide: Duplex.

Just a minute ago I call PR back and talked to my sales guy and he tells me Ricoh discontinued the part with no "newer" number to order.

Now I'm kinda in a pinch.

Any ideas where one of these could be found?

    Thanks
    Jeff

Unless ordered direct from Ricoh, you could use the same cover from old MPC4000 / 5000 or MPC3001 / 3501 fusers.

On the newer 02 range, this cover is combined with the left and right covers as a single piece.

But if they use the same part number I'm still out of luck.

I didn't believe it but it truly is a z ranked part with no new number listed. No bulletins either. Two options. Call Ricoh parts and get the true story or buy a printer version fuser that would be a complete fuser with maybe a jumper wire needing to be changed.

I don't have access to used parts or old machines to pick a part.

So I need to find this part!

          Any help would be appreciated

          Thanks

You do not need a used C5501. It is the same part on the MP C4000/C5000. The D029 indicates the product code where first used. I did a Google search and there a couple listings.

Pick it from a new fuser, then when it's time to use that fuser on another machine, move the cover from the old fuser in that one, over to the new fuser now lacking a cover. Problem solved :-D

Your boss must enjoy spending money. You can get a used machine for less than a new fusing unit.

I have a few good parts machines, I can sell you the cover.
