    SCAN TO FTP

Guys, do you have PDF/DOC tutorial on how to configure scan to FTP? I am not well familiar with this type of setup. Can you give me tips on how to set it up?
    Thank you.

Never touch a server without the Admin there!
Leaves you open for a lawsuit.
All they have to do is the simple google search.

You show him where to plug in the FTP information on the machine through WIM.
If the machine says complete, it is not a machine problem.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

            Re: SCAN TO FTP

Filezilla is pretty simple to use, works well doesn't have to be on a server, but does need to be a running service on a workstation that is on all the time or runs at start up. When the host is off scanning is down. This gets you around the SMB v.x and authentication issues usually..............

If they do not have IT and they want you to set up their server, talk to an attorney first and get a signed waiver from the customer. Otherwise you are going to get blamed for every problem that comes up on that computer for the next six months.

                    Re: SCAN TO FTP

If you have admin or customer tells you to do it you have few options.

One of them is FileZilla (don't like), other is FTP server from IIS (from Microsoft) and the best is network hdd with ftp support. Why? Becouse nobody will screw it and you earn some money. Conf is easy (mass storage and MFP). All you do is:
Network HDD - checkbox on ftp option, add user and pass
MFP - WIM way - Addressbook, new - ftp - protocol to ftp - server name put ip address of network hdd - directory /

That's all. If you use software option and don't know to much about IT, you will get probably a lot of problems.

My friend and I had tried to configure scan to FTP using Filezilla server and it works in our office. We just configure one user only.My questions now are: What is the advantage of using scan to FTP instead of using scan to SMB? How many users can be configured in scan to FTP? How the users can retrieve their scanned documents?

You will use it in the very near future. Maybe tomorrow I give you a quick example. Scan-to Folder do not work in Windows 10 and There is no firmware from Ricoh to fix it (yet...)
Even in new devices like Metis the SMB is not working in Windows 10.
(I have tried with no success)
