    Booklet Finisher SR 3150 issue

Hi Everyone, Have a strange one, finisher is connected to a 4503 with all firmware up to date.

The issue is the finisher will not create A4 booklets, A3 work fine.

With the A4 the paper gets to the shift tray but then the paper isn't pulled back into the machine to be stapled in the center, but instead are stapled at the edge of the paper, then a jam is called.

have checked sensors etc but no joy.

    any ideas ?

    thanks

Cheat the finisher door switch and watch the operation. If you look at the belt hooks, there is a mylar underneath to keep the paper from getting stuck between the belt and the hook causing staple problems like you're talking about.

Interesting problem. How old is your Finisher? The reason I ask is almost 2 years ago on a new preinstall I had a Booklet Finisher that would only make 8 1/2 X 11 SEF booklets OK but 8 1/2 X 14 and 11 X 17 were completely misstapled. Ricoh sent me a new Finisher Control PCB which did not resolve the problem. We tried the Finisher on a C5503 and a C3503 and had the same problem with the Finisher on both MFP' s. Ricoh eventually service exchanged the Finisher for us.
