When I was called about this copier, the customer initially told me that the display was stuck and reading, "Please wait." Upon my arrival to the copier, a different screen box had popped up and had several smaller boxes all reading "processing." I performed a soft reboot per Hytech and the copier came up. However, I tried shutting off the copier, which didn't work, and I also couldn't put the copier into energy saver mode. Eventually I removed the hard-drive and the dims, and the machine went into an SC-672 error. After I reinserted the dims, the error code went away. Was the SC-672 caused by the dims being removed? And do I have a bad hard-drive or controller board? Thank you for any help possible.

Re: Ricoh Aficio 3045
Are you saying that it booted up normally (albeit with limited functionality) after re-seating the dimms, and leaving the HDD disconnected?
If so, then Yes, Bad HDDComment

Re: Ricoh Aficio 3045
I've seen this exact same issue just last week (while attending the tier2 class for the '03 color models). What was interesting was that it was related to the laser unit not being plugged or seated correctly. It caused the unit to get stuck in a "load please wait" phase and even threw random SC's ( I don't recall what ones). It may be a long shot, but you can try looking at that? Make sure the customer hasn't accidentally tampered with it, or knocked it around by improper handling?Comment
