    Finisher on a MP6501sp

    Hello

First of all thank all of you for your help.

I am a Toshiba tech mainly but as most others I have worked on most brands. The boss just brought in a Richo mp6501sp and the options sr4040 and fd5000. I have been able to connect them but the machine does not seem to recognize the folder and finisher. I have looked for the service manual with no luck and through the settings in the sp mode with no luck. Is there a setting in the service mode that I need to set?

Did you provide the multi folding unit with its own power? The D454 though connected to the main frame does not receive power from the main machine. If it is not plugged in and turned on before the main frame copier is turned on, it will not be recognized. Since you will have the SR4040 connected to the D454, it will not be seen or powered up either. I am assuming that the main frame is a MP C6501 color machine as I do not know of a MP 6501 B/W machine.

Thank you very much for the reply.

No I did not provide power. I will look at that first thing Monday morning.

connect the finisher directly to the mfp, if that all works put the folder in a very dark corner in the warehouse and your life will be much better............

Thank you very much for the replies. I plugged in the folder to a power source and then the finisher to the folder and it started working just fine. I feel embarrassed for not seeing the socket for the plug but it had been a long day.
