Paper jam indication appears once the tray is loaded with more papers. No jam when there is less papers in the tray. Lift up motor is good and tested. I am sorry, I forget to get the jam code or the jam history in the logging data. I have not yet checked the rising unit assy because of time constraint. There are sensors in that rising unit. Do you think that is the culprit?

Clean the sensors in the cass feed unit
Replace the feed roller/sep pad
replace the clutch that drives the feed roller.
also------the lifter motor could have a crack in the white plastic where it engages with the cassette causing it to spread and not lift properly.sigpicAnything can be made to work if you fiddle with it long enough- San Diego Copier Repair.com -
Re: Paper Jam (MP 3350B)
Check paper width sensor is detecting right size in auto detect mode if the paper size has been set manually the width sensor will use width data to adjust speed of paper lift motor causing problems when paper tray is filled more than a third full - if paper size is reading incorrectly in auto detect mode - check rear paper size sensor has not been knocked out of its bracketComment

Try the following in this order:
Clean the sensors in the cass feed unit
Replace the feed roller/sep pad
replace the clutch that drives the feed roller.
also------the lifter motor could have a crack in the white plastic where it engages with the cassette causing it to spread and not lift properly.Comment

also check that the tray switch in the back of the machine has not been knocked out of its holder.Comment

Re: Paper Jam (MP 3350B)
This might be full of crap, and I apologize in advance.
Still, it kind of sounds like you might be dealing with either bad paper, or maybe somebody has turned off the automatic paper size detection and there is a different problem that needs to be attended to (on the newer Ricoh machines I worked on, turning off automatic paper size detection changed the amount the lift plate in the drawer travels and can cause weird and stupid things to happen).Comment

Re: Paper Jam (MP 3350B)
End fence is tight against the paper. As the paper is lifted, the fence on the paper trays used in this and previous models moves to the right. If the fence is against the paper it will push the paper hard against the right of the drawer and the paper will not feed. Proper positioned, the fence should be about 2mm away from the paper. Use the black mylar tabs on the end fence. The bottom edge of the mylar tabs should align with or be slightly to the left of the correct paper length.
Also, the left half of the paper drawer is NOT for storage of paper, especially if yo are using 8 1/2 X 11. I had a hospital that every morning would call to say the machine in surgery was jamming. I would good there, 35 miles one way, and the machine was working fine. One day I got there and there was a ream of paper in the left halt of the drawer and the machine was jamming. I removed the stored paper and no jamming. Stored paper = Jam. Np Stored Paper = No Jam. Showed this to the nursing supervisor and no more calls for jams.Comment

Re: Paper Jam (MP 3350B)
I am assuming that the paper is A4 or wider. If the paper size is in User Tools and not to Auto Detect, set it to auto detect. If it then shows as the paper as being narrower that A4, SP 1908 might not be able to correct the lift pressure without having to change it drastically. The problem is what bobbykerr and copyaction are referring to. US TSB is attached as a reference.
I have also noticed that when a tray full of paper in a portrait (LEF) position, jamming occurs. But when you change the orientation into Landscape (SEF), no jamming occurs. Put less paper in a portrait position, no jam.
Both trays are in AUTO PAPER DETECT. Change the paper setting into A4 manually, it still indicates same problem.Comment

Thank you for sharing your ideas but I have already checked that sensor. I also replaced it but still same problem.

Re: Paper Jam (MP 3350B)
Check the paper tray itself. There should be a plastic piece that extends from the back of the rear side fence that activates the sensor A4 is loaded LEF. It that is broken off or the bracket that the sensor mounts on is bent you will get exactly the problem you describe. A4 LEF jams, A4 SEF does not.Comment
