ricoh aficio 2045e light copy after 500 prints

confusing problem with ricoh aficio 2045e. after 500 pages of prints or copies they became lighter and 22092 change to 25...sometimes low toner blinking and after that i opened and closed front door the low toner blinking gone 22092 back to 300. but still very light copies..i put manually toner in developer unit. copies became dark but after 500 copies became light ..again i put powder manually and executed 2801 2805 30012 copies became darker but after about 500 pages same problem , i replaced toner hopper with another device... disassemble toner hopper.. every thing seemed ok.i replaced developer unit with another device.. replaced id sensor with another device. but still same problem..
i want to know about relation between 2223 and 3103 to trace the cause of the problem. can someone explain in details 2223 and 3103 and vsg vsp vt and relation between them and how to find out the problem with these values.

Dude, all what u have done is not related to the problem, it's bcos the toner wasn't drop into the dv tank automatically, u hv to check if the toner bottle turn while the u r make any of the copy, if not it would be mostly due to defective of toner motor or the gear connect to it

It's obviously the toner can't drop into dv tank unit automatically, thus u should check if the toner turn while u r making of any copies. It must relate to the toner motor or damage of clutch or gear connected

SP 2223 is just a report on the readings from the TD, toner density, sensor. SP 3103 is just the most recent readings from the ID, image density, sensor. If you want more information, read section 6.9.5 of the service manual as toner control is covered in that section. SP 3001-001 is more important to check. If should be near 100. If it is high, the ID sensor is either dirty or defective. Clean it with a damp rag and then run SP 3001-002.

30011 is around 70 and and every time i cleaned id sensor... i read somewhere that you mentioned after entering service code while front door open switching off and on ... and never use 2801 .. i executed 2801 every time i checked inside the copier so i think i used 2801 more than 20 times.. could that be me my problem?

SP 2801 needs to be ran before Process Control runs. Process Control normally run at power up if the door is closed. If process control has run, any changes you make, including running developer initialization, might be reversed by process control within a few copies.

Make sure that you are using Genuine Ricoh developer and developer. They need to both be correct for the model. I believe that the recipe number should be the same.

With the age of the 2045e, you might consider replacing it.

i think the problem is id sensor.
vsg and vsp tend to zero after i changed 2210 to 1 and made 5 to 20 copies .. im goning to replace id sensor tomorrow
i have another question.. 2223 is toner density report? it shows 474... how can i check vt value from the service mode?

as slimslob stated, check if the developer and toner are orig. and if your are sure that these are genuine. inspect the Cover- Toner Bottle Ass'y(A232 3240), the mylars should be intact. Most of our problem with add toner and light copies caused by these mylars. we have not change id and td sensors with this model.

toner hopper is ok . you can simply check it with 580456 ... i replaced id sensor once before for this machine. td sensor for same machins at least 2 times. i have 45 copy and one 35 copy machines

The high the value of SP 2223-001, which is the only check for Vt, the lower the toner concentration in the developer.

Vsg is the reflectivity of the drum. A low reading might be a bad ID sensor, a dirty ID sensor or developer bias too high causing a light filming of toner on the drum surface when not making copies. The ID sensor should only be cleaned with a soft cloth or white paper towel moistened with water only. Do not dry off.

Use of anything other than water can leave a film on the sensor. Using a dry cloth or towel can leave a static charge that will attract toner. Either of these situations will cause Vsg to be low.

The 35 and 45 models are also prone to having the lead to the ID sensor having a loose connection.

After replacing ID sensor and running 30012 nothing changed. Vsg and vsp were around 3.9 and 0.8 but after 10 or 15 copies changed to zero or 0.1 . I cleaned all contacts and nothing changed . restarted the machine and ran 30012. but again after 10 copies changed to zero. I manually added toner in development unit . Suddenly machine started to work better. I made more than 10 copies . vsg and vsp remained at 3.91 and 0.76. so I turned off the mashine . opened front door and ran 2801 and 2805 after closing the door . vsg vsp changed to 4.05 and 0.31 . 2223 changed to 470. Then I ran 30012 again . machine started to work better. Put the toner bottle back . and made more than 50 copies . quality somehow good but not dark as it was before.

I believe 2801 is to be done every time a new developer is replaced.
Had a problem once, solved it by modifying Mylar in the toner hopper unit.
Usually its attached by double sided tape and comes off easily. I used super glue on it.

as i mentioned the problem was not Mylar in the toner hopper . i disassemble hopper and maylar was ok . svg and vsp are 4.0 and 0.17 . quality is ok . a little over tone
