    Ricoh MPC2500

Had to replace black toner pump and tube, then color alignment was off. Cleaned ID sensors, swapped belt from another machine, problem stayed with machine, not belt. Color alignment fails. Any input on this, not that familiar with Ricoh.

The transfer unit uses an encoder to determine the rotation speed so I would start with stripping and cleaning the unit and making sure all the silver rollers are shiny. Check the encoder and replace if necessary and also if the transfer cleaning unit has passed its life this may slow down the transfer belt causing colour registration issues.

Just to be clear, are just trying to perform the registration adjustment in the maintenance menu?
Or does the Line position adjustment in SP mode fail?
      SP2111-3 (Rough)
      then
      SP2111-1 (fine) - Do twice

If the colour reg.drifts too far, colour registration in user tools will fail. As sandmanmac said do 2111 C then A, process control, auto colour calibration and then colour registration in user tools.

If it still fails, print off a logging data SP5990-4 and check for SC's. Something may have gone bang.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

You need to clean all the idler & drive rollers thorougly, these can cause that exact fault.
Also clean the ID sensors with a damp anti static cloth as a dry cloth causes static & toner attracts to the sensor very quickly causing colour registration issues

I mean Drive rollers inside ITB unit that the belt runs on.

Try print out the SMC (System Parameters) report and confirm values with the the one that came with the machine.

Low toner density can cause this too. Do forced toner 1-2 times (not more than that) and try forced line position again.

Thanx all, the 2111 resolved the registration issue.
