Hi, first post but I have an issue that no one seems to know the cause of. Another technician completed a PM on this machine and they started complaining about copy quality issues. I ran a counter sheet and the image looked fine with no defects at all. I ran an smc report and it started showing a blurred or dirty image. Not only that, while flipping through the smc report you could feel toner/developer on the paper. I immediately thought fuser but it was just rebuilt and rubbing the paper didnt cause the toner to rub off of the paper so it was fusing properly. I separated the drum and developer unit and found nothing out of the ordinary. I decided to just replace both the drum and development units and put the new ones in today. I ran another test pattern and it gave me the exact same image. It is only the black drum, i ran the checker pattern in every color and only the black was affected. I replaced it thinking the problem was with the drum unit but that doesnt seem to be the case. Forced procon, initialized ID sensor (this helped me before with a faded black image on a mpc2500), updated firmware, and still nothing. This customer is pretty uspet about the situation since they have been "down" for a few days. I called Ricoh tech support and they couldn't give me any new information that I didn't already have. Below I've included links to the images of what the machine is doing. It seems the lighter the coverage the better the image is, the heavier the coverage such as spreadsheets the worse it is.
