Mp 2851 giving an sc220 code

I'm looking for some help with an sc220 laser sync detect problem.
The copier will sometime jam going into the registration area. JC014 It's producing partial
image On the copies as well. I inspected the LD unit and nothing seemed out of the way with it.
I didn't pay too much attention at first but the copier sounds like it's laboring when the main
motor is turning. I did the pm to it but that didn't help very much.
Appreciate any help.

D084/D085	SC 220	Laser sync detection error: Laser Sync Detection Harness loose or defective
D084/D085	SC 220	Laser sync detection error: Laser sync detection board defective
D084/D085	SC 220	Laser sync detection error:: LDB Unit Defective
D084/D085	SC 220	Laser sync detection error: IPU Defective

Physical inspection of a Laser Diode Unit usually will detect a defective unit.

make sure your nvram is sitting correctly

They are spider chips with half moon im sure half moon at top if not it will show a sc220 !

My memory may be failing me, but I think front cover switches can cause this problem, of course I may be remembering wrong...I blame my age

I know that the old 1035s and 1045s could SC22X codes from a bad door switch.

try to change your polygon motor.
