    Pro C5100 Bypass

    Hi

I have this constant niggle with a Bypass on a Pro C5100. The bypass, if it has 9 or more sheets in the bypass opens, according to the customer each time they ring. I have told them to only put in 8 then, but this did not go down well. (was a joke you see) Anyway, I have been out to make adjustments but over another week it starts opening again and I wondered if there was an update or something anyone knows off to stop it. I may change the spring tension of the catch.

    Any advice appreciated.

Are leaving paper in the bypass and then closing the bypass feed table? If they are it is not recommended. Even if they can get the table to stay closed, it will set a curl in the lead edge of the paper that could cause the paper to jam. It could also prevent the paper from feeding at all when the table is closed. If they want to keep paper in it then it has to be left open. If they are concerned about someone bumping it when they walk by, they can do what my customers do, put a waste basket under it. They can go two if need be, one brown one for trash and one blue one for paper recycling.

Hiya. No they don't leave paper in it, just say when it gets to around 9 sheets of 200gsm approx the bypass opens as when you would open it to remove a jam or light. I will sort it I expect just didn't know if it was a common problem on these machines. Thanks for coming back.
