using to much toner

Hi there i am new to samsung actually my first day today have just left toshiba. I have a machine the 8640nd which is using to much toner has only done 58800 black copies and has gone through about 8 cartridges which shouldnt be normal has anyone got any ideas?

You know you have to find out what they are printing. If they are printing solid blacks you use too much. Also have to check if they are giving toner to their friends

they are not printing heavy solids it is a medical aid company and it is only application forms that they are printing. dont think that they are giving toner away as we are delivering and putting the toner in

Hey I don't know if this will help you but we had issues with the small clx-6260 and the 4300 range.
Where toner consumption was over the top. After updating firmware we noticed a considerable drop in toner consumption.
Also make sure the client is using original toner.

Any luck on figuring this out? I am having the same issue and have stopped selling these machines for this reason. Samsung has been NO help. We have a LONG history with these customers and have not had any sort of toner yield issues with their past machines. One customer has an 8540 as well as an 8640 where they print the same on both machines...NO issues on the 8540 with toner yield.
