[Misc] Samsung 9301na inverting copies when printing multiples????

    Greetings all!

I haven't a lot of time today...busy busy busy so I'll cut right to the chase. Can someone please shed some light as to why the 9301 model (possibly others 9201, etc.) inverts the printouts 180 degrees when printing multiple pages?? To clarify, I have a customer (old dude) who prints out his bills onto pre-printed invoices. He preps his page and lays in on the scanner bed and loads his invoices into tray one. He then copies the original ONE time and the machine prints out ONE page. Customer checks and makes sure everything lines up and decides it ok and proceeds to print out 20 more. printing ends. He takes the stack of paper from the output tray and all of the pages are printed 180 degrees inverted. I tested one other machine that I have at my store here and it is doing the same thing. Can someone verify that these machines do this? Such a strange problem. Or am I missing something??

    Thanks a million in advance.

    Mitch

dug a little deeper into this issue and have now have tried on a x4300lx (no problem). On the 9301, when running the original through the ADF, there is also no problem (orientation is correct). I assume this is a controller issue. It is not a bad one, but in my situation, the customer printed out 700 pages and all were inverted. Not a happy camper to say the least. lol

Got it sorted all. Man what a pain in the ass that was. Answer was to revert back to firmware V6.06.12. Thanks for looking! Escalated the issue though to Korea. Should be a fix on the way in the coming updates.

      Take care all!

We had a 8123 that would print inverted two sided-single sided to two sided. Ran the first one OK but if you printed more that one it would invert them (top to bottom were inverted on second side). Samsung had us change one of the modes and I looked but I have not a record of the setting. Seems like the Number 5 was on or a one (or maybe number 7). These are special modes in the service mode for the dealers. I can not recall what they are called. Customer ended up trading it in for a Canon. We had problems with the machine from day 1. You may try the Samsung hotline. We tried updating the software with no luck. I looked in the service manual but could not find those dealer settings. Wish I could have been more helpful but it sounds like the same problem we had. I doubt you are missing any thing. Samsung=job security.

Job Security is a nice thing to have! haha. To be honest, we have about 40 machines out at the moment (MOST are 9301/9201 ) and i have to say that they are running very well. A few hiccups here and there, but for the most part I am happy. I have read some horror stories on the forum that makes my insides turn over. Hope the luck stays on my side. As per the number settings you mentioned, could it be the "SFE" settings in service mode? I am already in contact with Samsung about the issue, but if I could steer them to those settings perhaps the problem could be settled faster. The only time I have ever used those settings in Service mode was to change the standby mode times/energy save mode (which is, by the way, No. 10) to change the timers to longer than the stupid 30 min. cap. No.10 plus restart = 120 minute extension to a max of 240 minutes. Thanks for the reply!

          All the best!

It was SFE. Sorry I could not remember the exact one but SFE 5 sticks in my head. After they traded it in I did not worry about it. If you want I can look in one more place (I keep some paperwork in my tool kit). I only have four of five machines. Sales got spooked from when we first had all the problems and then Samsung raised the prices so a Canon costs about the same. All my machines run very well. I keep the default settings and just replace drums and such as needed plus keep software updated. Sure don't jam. Have never had a call for jamming (two years now). Just a call because the operator did not know how to remove jam from finisher. One customer loves their machine but most don't. It sounds like you found the answer to the service call, good job!
