samsung multixpress 8123 dark copy from mirror

Samsung multixpress 8123 when copy from mirror very dark copies comes out. However from adf auto feeder the copy is normal like original not dark. I have already clean the mirrors in the scanning unit and it is still the same. Any setting or calibration that I can do for this model.

    Thx,
    Alvin.

I hv similar problem like this, the culprit is the CIS unit (scanner unit)
Mine is black strick if using on platen glass but it ok if from dadf.
Changed the CIS (scanner assy) and it settled. but the CIS is not cheap. it about 320USD.

I've seen this issue before on this series and it was a cracked ribbon cable on the scanner lamp assembly. Everything is fine when it's in home position for RADF use, but when it moves the crack causes an open circuit.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

Yes it the thin ribbon cable that run with the lamp. Need to replace that, happens alot on the samsung 8040, 8240 machines. careful not to blow out the joint board
