    [Error Code] HP E77830z Error 61.00.06

    Hey i got a HP E77830 with a 61.00.06 code. Cant Print a page only scan. Will also not print any reports
    Tried updating firmware to 5.6 (i know its not the latest) but got error 99.05.03
    I got another HDD from a scrapped HP. did the unlock and clear procedure in pre boot menu then did firmware again. same 99.05.03 error
    Took that original HDD to test in workshop and was able to unlock drive and do firmware with same USB no problem.

    I think the formatter board is next item to try
    can i use 2nd hand board and if so is it as straight forward as just replacing it or is there a procedure.

      i swapped entire formatter cage with 2nd hand one. same fault.
      put the suspected faulty one in the copier i used for parts and it works fine.
      going to just give them the 2nd hand unit. thankfully the serial number and meter counts came with the board.

      just thought id update that no fix was found

          I've had a few 99 errors and can say its 100% HDD related. its not the formatter,
          I know the last one took me like 3 hours trying to recover it for some reason, usually they are very easy to recover new HDDs in.

          I know I had to lock and unlock the drive, reformat it after, then reinstalled firmware. sometimes if your having trouble loading 5.7+ try loading 4.12+
