    Re: Laptop Requirements

I don't think that your laptop requirements are going to change if you work on different types of equipment, so find a laptop that you are happy with.

If you need to look at a lot of CD's/DVD's then get a laptop with an optical drive inbuilt as it is annoying when you have to get out an external optical drive all the time.

I work on Konica Minolta, Toshiba, Lexmark, HP and then all the IT stuff like servers, switches and so forth and I have found that I just go for the fastest laptop that I can find with a decent battery life.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Personally, I have just a little NetBook that I transferred everything to since it doesn't have a CD/DVD drive and an old iBook for Mac stuff. Haven't really found a need for much more than that.

Get a laptop (or a tablet) with an SD port on it, that way you can just save all the files you need to a 32 gig card. Done done and done.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.
