Hi All.
We have a CLX-6210 with 40% remaining on its transfer belt (apparently according to the Supplies Report) but the machine stopped and said it needs a new transfer belt. Curious. Anyone else come across early failure of transfer belts on these models? Under normal circumstances, when we need to change transfer belts on similar models you can see they have genuinely done their life and look worn out - sometimes they wear out prematurely and need changing because the cleaner assembly fails.
I've scoured several other copier forums, googled chips for these babies, and apart from a couple of references to people who use resetters with limited success have been unable to find anything much of relevance. I guess we are going to have to chuck away the old transfer unit - we've already had to replace it for the customer - but it seems a shame as it should have some life still left in it.
NB the machine is totally out of warranty so no hope of a partial refund.
Thanks in anticipation.
MAX
