    Samsung 6322 problems

Three issues with this machine: Trying to upgrade the firmware on an SCX-6322DN via USB, and after downloading and opening the firmware folder, dragging and dropping the F/W onto USBLIST2, the DOS window opens up, the numbers count up as usual and the window closes. In the display it says: "Upgrade failed, ck upgrade mode". Has anyone had this problem? Second: trying to get into the Engine Test Mode to test the LSU. The service manual shows a procedure with the "return" key (with an arrow heading up)...there is no such key. How do you enter this mode? Lastly, the original problem was this machine takes a long time to come to ready, sometimes 2 or 3 minutes, even it's been off only a few seconds. Originally it gave an LSU error, we replaced the LSU, no more error but still takes a long time to come to ready. Anyone????

Before you can use the USB firmfirmware upgrade the computer should have the proper printer driiver installed, I always do. You could enter tech mode by pushing menu, #. 1, 9, 3, 4 menu quickly, 1934 being the year Samsung start business, so the same number is used in most of their models. as far as heat up time , make sure the thermistor is clean and pressing against the fuser roller, checking with a second fuser unit would help, it is only about $90.00 cost.

      Re: Samsung 6322 problems

Thanks for your reply. I want to get into the engine test mode, not the tech mode. Supposedly they are two different things, the engine test mode allows simulation testing of certain electronic components, such as the LSU and motors, though I've never have to get into this before, so I don't know if it's actually possible. It is listed in the service manual, but the instructions on how to enter it are not correct. The computer does have the latest driver, and I've tried another fuser with the same results. It takes a minute and a half, on average, to come to ready. I have a 6320 in the shop now, takes the same fuser, and it takes 25 seconds to come to ready. When you're waiting to make a copy, a minute and a half is a lifetime to the customer. They have a 6320 in the same office, and they've have the 6322 for about 3 years, so they know how long it should take to come to ready. I've yet to time another machine, as I only have a few in the field and haven't had to opportunity to see one yet. Thanks again.
