    Sharp MX-M354n error F2-40

    I need help with this
Original problem few months ago, F2-40, machine was out of toner. Completed PM with new drum, cln blade, set new OEM toner, replaced developer, in Sim 25-2, sets normally with 127 as stored value-Meter was 105K.
Fast forward to last month, 17K copies later, F2-40 error/ out of toner again. Installed new toner, installed & calibrated new developer again, sim 25-2 all good, runs for 450 copies F2-40 comes back.
Since then, checked toner motor, all drive gears, while calibrating in Sim 25-2 display reads 0, reading moves for second, comes back to 0 & does not move. Changed, developer assy w/ new one, changed PCU PWB w/ one from Hytec. Errors out F2-40, there are wavy lines on mag roller, which clear up when developer assy is rotated manually. See sample.
I'm sure sharp has a tech pub on this, I would appreciate any help or Tech pubs that your might be aware of?

There were a bunch of toner clutches that had rusted while at the dock - constantly adding toner. Cheat the door, and run 25-1 without the toner cartridge (always, including 25-2) and check the toner add gear to see if it is turning - it shouldn't be. Replace clutch if it is turning.
WOW, I just looked at your attachment; the rusted clutch may not be the answer.

this is the mxm264n-mxm354n series ? Are you doing 25-2 with toner cart removed from copier ? could be hv pwb issue, for this series there isn't any bulletins for f2-40. i think there was one for developer spew issues and a bearing in dev unit had issue. make sure you have good drum ground (put some conductive grease on drum shaft). picture looks like low developer , seen this on color machines especialy with old style charge units it would pull all the dev out. did you replace charge unit ?

Faxman28, I forgot to add in my original post that it is throwing developer, and yes when the new developer is installed there are no wavy lines, so it likely wavy lines are from low developer in the unit--since it's flying off the mag roller. Is there a high voltage unit issue w/ this model, that was my last discussion with Hytec tech; I was going to check the bias but, no meter was on hand. Are you able to upload the tech pub on developer spewing?

        Thanks!

this can be arcing between mc grid and frame. when this happen main charge bias voltage shuts down and dev will dumped to waste toner box. did you change the mc grid of the drum in first instance ?

Drowranger, no, corona was cleaned meticulously but it not changed on original call. Based on your post & faxman's reply, I plan on changing the corona & applying non conductive grease to the drum ground next trip back!

            Thanks!

Had similar problem about 2 months ago. Was also arcing holes in drum surface. Replacing HVU took care of it.
