    Windows 10 Scanning

    Hi guys,

Has any body had any trouble doing scan to folder with windows 10? I had a IT guy ask me as his customer upgraded to windows 10 and he could not get it working. He can make it scan to windows 7 and windows 8 using a MX2600.

I spoke to Sharp and the guy told me it was not supported. I then asked again if there was a ETA on a fix for this and he said there is no problem. I don't have a windows 10 machine to test with in the office.

Ive read a few posts that some Ricohs can't scan to windows 10.

Any body else had any luck scanning to windows 10?

no problem with win 10 and mx2610 and SMB scanning. if your customer is on a domain , they should be using win 10 pro, there are limitations with win 10 home and networking on a domain type network. I have win 10 home running on a MacBook air and we don't have a domain server and I shared a folder on desktop using same path I had for win 8.1 scanning. So far all the print drivers, sharpdesk and smb scanning are working using win 10 on dell venue 11 pro tablet and win 10 laptop (MacBook air with bootcamp).

If the windows 10 PC is on a private network ? you need to change to public then you should have no problem

I saw a powerpoint sent out today from a Ricoh engineer showing one thing that needs to be changed for sure....

        • Right clicking on your network icon in the bottom task bar and then left click on "Open Network and Sharing Center"
        • Select "Change advanced sharing settings" in the left column
        • Scroll to bottom and expand "All Networks"
        • Under "File sharing connections" select "Enable file sharing for devices that use 40 or 56-bit encryption"

This change may fix a lot of the current scanning problems going on but I'm sure there may be other settings that could require adjusting.

Finally got a straight answer from Sharp.

Older copiers only support SMB 2.0 (MXM283, 453. MX2600 etc)

New copiers apparently run SMB 3.0 (have yet to test this) (MX2640, MXM365)

Windows 10 seems to require SMB 3.0

The guy i spoke with seemed to doubt there would be a firmware fix any time soon if there even will be one.

all sharp copiers are smb 1 the only ones that are smb 2 at the moment is mxm654/m754 and the mxm565/564 series.

I am smb scanning to windows 10 from a mx2610,
