    MXc300W rebooting itself

I have one of these machines and the last couple of days it's been restarting itself every few minutes. I saw it for myself today, the data light starts flashing and then the machine restarts and comes back to ready to copy. Strange thing is if you remove the network cable the machine does not reboot.

I loaded the latest firmware today but the problem persists. I am convinced it's a network or driver problem but the customers IT people are at a loss.

    Anyone come across this?

Have their IT clear the print queue - most likely a corrupt print job.

It could be something is sending a packet that is not a print job to this IP address.

I have seen that happen on the Frontier series before.

Most likely a print job. Such as printing a PDF from a web page.

Update - it's not an IP conflict as I've done a continuous ping and unplugged and plugged back in the printer and lose connection when its disconnected. I had a mxc250 with me and swapped them and the 250 rebooted itself as well, so I've proved its not the machine and definitely something on their network, trouble is what??

Re-booting is it the same as if you turn off the machine? Did you consider the power source? because you said both the machine are doing the same thing.

The data light starts flashing and after about 30 seconds it switches off and then restarts with the welcome screen and comes back to ready to copy. Unplug the network cable and the machine works perfectly as a copier and a fax and does not restart itself. Plug the network cable in and within 2 minutes it starts restarting itself.

Did you try to replace the network cable? Or test the machine connected to a laptop?!

I'm going back Monday armed with cables and a new router, one thing I haven't tried is to simply change the IP address on the machine, so I'm starting with that. I'll update you in Monday

Disable WSD in the printer port settings in the Network Settings of the web page.

Ok sorted it today. Turned out to be a corrupt printer driver on one of the PCs which was sending corrupt package to the printer making it reboot. Delete and reinstall the driver and it's working fine again. Phew. Thanks for all your help.
