im having exactly the same issue with mx2301n any updates on this matter?

ahhhh..this is an old post!!! any idea guys? are there any corona wires on this model? when i checked parts catalogue there is no corona wire that exist on MC.

mx-31mk maint kit for that machine.

any idea why the MX5141 also does this? A LOT!

Mostly the colourdrums, dvbox gets sucked empty...

New machines, old machines, doesnt matter. Most of our machines get this problem.

Replacing the developer and cleaning the charger solve the problem...but this doesnt seem normal...it happens TOO much...

Have this problem with the mx5112 too, but not so much.

Was there a change in the drum-design or something? Because never had that problem in the past with MX5112

Ive seen this OFTEN, and I mean OFTEN in the MX-5001N. This is because the upper seal in black developing unit is missing from these models, causing void streaks exactly like the picture.

This looks like developer loss. I would check out that seal. MC grid too.

Thanks for the replies. I will try changing the drum and main charge unit. I remember seeing the same problem on a Toshiba 4520C and it ended up being the main charge. I changed the main charge and drum just to be safe. It took care of the problem on that machine so hopefully the Sharp is the same

It will! Be sure to run the calibration after changing supplies, and updating firmware.

you will need to redev this but changecdrum and charge this time, no dev left in unit

Your charge corona is contaminated causing this. If it said maint req KV it probably needed a drum and maint kit as well.

I recently had a customer call us to order black developer and then come out to replace it. I attached some test pages of the copy quality. The machine was doing the same thing before I changed the developer and now it has only been a couple days and it is doing the same things. Are there any updates that need to be done? I don't want to change the developer again only to have it come back a few days later. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance !

Check that developer isn't getting sucked out into the waste toner bottle because of a charge problem. I had a new setup on a MX5141N that sucked the dv out into the WT and give a EE-EL code.
After inspecting the HV pwb and reseating connectors, the 2nd bag of dv held tight, and copy quality was 'dead on'.

Looks like the mag roller in your developer unit is shot. This can be caused by a mc arcing out. You will want to replace the developer unit and maybe the mcu just to be safe. If it happens more than once there could be a voltage problem with the mcu. sim 8-1 you can check the defaults and the defaults can be found on the high voltage mc board.
