    AR-M455 Hard drive install prob. Can't enter SP62

    Hi Guys,
    I have a state machine that had the hard drive removed. I'm trying to install a new HD, but when I try and enter SP62 nothing happens. This machine does have a data security kit installed. Will that prevent me from installing a new HD? Thanks!

      These machines can have one of two data security kits. One is for the government and military. The machine is not reusable as far as I know with the government kit. The other kit is for commercial use and MAY be recoverable although I have never done it. AR-FR21 is the commercial (I think) and AR-FR21U is the government. Should show on the data print what is installed.

              All the state of california machines have the U version of dsk and you can replace the hard drive. Its the same if the hard drive fails just install new one.

                  Thanks Romang. I tried to install the hard drive. (I've never done one on this copier.) I keep getting an E7-03 code. I can clear it with sp14,15,16. The copier will not let me enter SP62 to format the drive. Is there a code I need to enter for the security kit? Thanks.

                      E7-03 is a bad hard drive or connector. Try another one or check connections. You don't need to enter anything just install new hard drive.

                              Have you checked to confirm you are getting the 2 voltages to the HDD. If I remember correctly the voltages for the HDD come from the Mother Board and this board failed a lot. I hope you get the voltages because this board is a real pain in the ass to get to.
