    [Error Code] F2-74 on MX4111,

    Hello everyone,
    I'm dealing with an MX4111 that has error code F2-74 popping up intermitantly. Cartridge was replaced at least 2 times, connector look good at the crum chip, PCU board was replaced also. We are at the step of changing the harness unless someone would have another idea...

      Check that the T\C PWB is seated properly

          Check the K toner motor if it is running properly. Second check the Toner pipe from K Toner to the K DV unit if it is clog. Good luck...

              Also check the ptc. It will create a lot of different problems if it is dirty or shorting.

                  check tech tip tt-060313_3, on mx 5110,4110 series.


                  The following trouble codes-F2-70,F2-71,F2-72,F2-73,F2-74,F2-75,F2-76,F2-77 or C4-20 can be caused by a dirty or faulty Pre Transfer Corona unit.

                  When replacement of toner cartridges and/or developer units do not resolve error code, the transfer bias is likely the cause.

                  To test if the PTC is causing the error code, temporarily set engine soft switch 8-3 in Sim 55-1 to a value of 1. This will turn off the PTC. Note, copy quality will rapidly degrade. However, if error F2-XX codes do not re-appear, PTC failure is likely the cause of the error code.

                  Replacement transfer assemblies do not have a new PTC unit. PTC failures can cause various toner cartridge and CRUM errors.

                  Replacing with Item MX-510CU PTC unit will resolve error codes caused by the PTC unit.

                      THanks all for the different suggestions.
                      Faxman28 you mention "check tech tip tt-060313_3, on mx 5110,4110 series" and I dont have access to those solution. I have access to REPxxxx and TIPxxxx (four digits)
                      Any way I can see this tip ?

                          It's almost 3 weeks now that I replaced the PTC and so far so good.
