    3110 doc feed jam

Ive got an issue with a doc feed on a 3110 color mfp. No jam codes, I cleaned pick up feed and sep tires along with the one way on the feed tire. I found a big paper clip in the paper path removed, and tested with 10 duplex scans no issues. 10mins late it's back to jamming.the paper feeds about half way through the entrance of the doc feed and stops. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

Try running machine with 'Misfeed' disabled; that will tell you if you have a mechanical, or sensor/electrical trouble.

You may have one of the bad sensors in the ADF, that randomly stops working. Use sim 2-2 to test the sensors, and do it more than once. I had a machine this week that the sensor would work
8 out of 9 tries. And sometimes it reacted slow, and in your case it maynot give a error.

      Good luck, Dan

Check your jam codes in 22-12 to see what sensor the paper is stopping at. _S means still detected _N means not reached.

I had a sensor flag noise bumper pad get sticky on that model causing jams.

Just made it back to customer site today. Sppd 1 and 2 do not respond to the sensor check could both sensors fail? Thank you

Yes replace them all while you are in there. See bulletin MFP-TB-1025

Sharp has had a lot of trouble with sensors I am sure that one needs to be replaced in the doc feeder

I used to refer to those as "time bomb" sensors. The problem was, you never knew what time they were going to blow.
