These DF are noisy right out of the box but Sharp has several tech bulletins regarding this issue. They are MFP-TB-727, 817, 991R 1070 and 1172. Some are for RSPF and some DSPF feeders. You'll have to browse through them to see if any match your condition. They have varying resolutions listed. It seems that there isn't any 1 underlying cause for the noise....or a quick fix!

    Good luck.

Here are the summarized bulletins posted by bilyahn. I hope this helps give you an idea of what to look for.

For improved noise reduction from the RSPF/DSPF
transport section, the shape of the 37T/64P gear has been
modified so that contact with the 33T gear is smoother.
        Old part number is NGERH2034FCZZ
        New part number is NGERH2034FCZ1

If the paper transport area is squeaky, apply some film lubricant on the noisy gear shafts.

Transport Following rollers have been upgraded due to noisy operation.
        old part number is NROLP1734FCZZ
        New part number is NROLP1734FCZ1

If the sound is coming from the PS clutch in the RSPF, try replacing the RSPS Roller (the shaft connected to the PS clutch) with an upgraded part. The V groove location has been changed and the Poly slider between the Eclip and the PS clutch should be removed with the upgraded RSPS roller unit.
        Old part number NROLR1891FCZZ
        New part number NROLR1891FCZ1

An upgrade to gear (gear 32p(2 total)) NGERH2039FCZZ to NGERH0433QSZZ to reduce noise. Also, add Poly slider LX-WZ0448FCZZ between gear and E-clip
It is also recommended that you try putting 3 Poly sliders inside of the clutch in the (RSPF Transport Section 2). It should go -3polysliders -clutch -Eclip

This should give you some things to work on. ###
