Cannot Perform Copy/Print Color Calibrations on MX-4101N

    Hi all,

I'm stuck on this particular issue with a few machines. When I try to run Sims 46-24 and 67-24 to perform the copy and print calibrations respectively, I place the printed calibration target on the glass with the lighter side towards the left, as instructed on the touch panel. When I try to run it, in most cases it works and I get a printed sheet for clarification. In some instances it scans the document and reverts to the previous screen instructing me to place the target on the glass. No error, no message telling me why it doesn't work, it just didn't work.

Has anyone else seen this? If so what is the fix? The service manual doesn't seem to cover this circumstance, or if it does I haven't seen it.

I have come across this once. Cleaning the glass and optics did resolve my issue. You may also consider ADJ 27, sim 50-28.

With all our 4101n, I do 44-2 , 44-6 , 44-26 and then 46-74 (it does both copy and printer color balance adjustments).

Thank you for getting back to me.

In the adjustments section of the service manual (Adjustments 20 and 21) it lists these simulations as a precursor for the copy calibration, and as such they were performed. I also get no difference between the individual calibration simulations and the combined simulation. Have you seen this specific problem before?

Do the printed calibration sheets have solid colors and black on them.

If your copy quality is bad the simulation will not work.

If they do have solids then clean your optics and try again.

Be sure your resist sensors are clean.

I suspect and hope you are using the recommended paper for calibration.

I've had issues with developer being near end of life causing this.

If you are not stacking 5 sheets of paper on top of them it will error. I know it seems like the white foam padding would hold them down, but it doesn't.
